Real-time sound to movement system

Real-Time Website Animation Powered by Audio API(s)
AudioM8 is an experimental web application from Byron Digital that demonstrates how websites can connect to browser APIs and react to live data in real time.
Using JavaScript and the browser’s Web Audio API, AudioM8 analyses music as it plays through the device and converts the sound into interactive animation. Volume, frequency, rhythm and changes in the audio signal can control particles, movement, lighting, backgrounds and branded visual effects directly within the web browser.
Try it with your own music, open settings and link to an MP3, or use the microphone and turn up your stereo.

Real-Time Music Visualisation in the Browser
The AudioM8 demonstration uses the browser’s audio-processing capabilities to measure different parts of a music track while it is playing. This data is processed continuously and used to update the graphics on screen.
The result is a responsive music visualiser that runs directly inside a website without requiring a pre-rendered video. Every animation is generated in real time, meaning the visuals can change with different music, settings and branding.
This technology could be used for:
- Promotional videos
- Music launches
- Event displays
- Interactive digital signage
- Branded social media content
- Exhibition screens
- DJ and live-performance visuals
- Product launches
- Website backgrounds
- Audio-reactive logos and animations
Connecting Websites to APIs
Modern websites can do far more than display static information. By connecting a website to external services, browser features and third-party APIs, it can respond dynamically to users, devices and real-world data.
API integrations can be used to connect websites and web applications to:
- Audio and microphone input
- Payment systems
- Mapping and location services
- Vehicle and product databases
- Booking platforms
- Customer relationship management systems
- Stock and inventory software
- Artificial intelligence services
- Social media platforms
- Business reporting tools
AudioM8 uses audio data as its input, but the same development principles can be applied to almost any compatible API or live data source.
Custom API Development from Byron Digital
Byron Digital builds websites, web applications and custom software for businesses that need more than an off-the-shelf website.
We can connect websites to existing APIs, develop interfaces for business systems, automate repetitive processes and build interactive experiences around live data.
Whether the project involves audio, payments, maps, artificial intelligence, customer data or a specialist industry platform, the objective is the same: create a reliable connection between the website and the services the business depends on.
AudioM8 is one example of how browser technology, JavaScript and creative development can be combined to produce an engaging interactive experience.
